Summary
The University of Costa Rica for more than half a century has provided a contribution to the enormous social to this country, in all the fields that can be mentioned, and has been growing step by step with time and with the contribution of all, his relationship with the various state institutions has been indispensable to the realization of many projects of common good. Currently the University City attracts a large number of services, which includes the transportation of students, a situation which is linked to the increase in the vehicle fleet has generated a saturation and great chaos road in the sector of San Pedro and the surrounding areas to this. The development of this project is not only based on the need of the community of San Pedro and the university city of the solution of the great chaos road that leads in its surroundings due to the large number of buses entering this sector, but also in the general need of the city to improve their image, it seeks to give an order to the system of transportation of students from UCR to make it more efficient. As the culmination of this research raises an urban intervention by the design of an intermodal station university that contributes to the management of road in the area of San pedro and university city, as well as to improve the urban image of the sector north of 3rd street “Calle de la Amargura”, serving as a starting point in the formulation of solutions to the general problem of transport in the city.
