Summary

La Carpio is a human settlement popular, where public spaces for recreation comprise mainly the streets. However, the appropriation of public space that exerts teen girl of this community is limited in space and time to enjoy more autonomy in your neighborhood, your street; this is due to gender roles constructed historically and socially, which is also reflected in the planning to the lack of urban facilities and public spaces that facilitate the activities of this population. Through a deep analysis of urban and a participatory process developed with girls from the sector of Small Big City of La Carpio, a proposed network of recreational spaces, under the concept of “the street is all and all”. In order to provide more options for community life, heal social issues that directly affect this population, and to promote by means of this project processes towards the formalization of the territory and the improvement of public space.
